Robert Pearlman | Northrop Grumman's NG-11 mission insignia: |
SkyMan1958 | Does anyone know why there is a wedge of cheese acting as a hyphen between the NG and the 11 in the NG patch? Thank you! |
Robert Pearlman | NG-11 will be the first mission to demonstrate Antares' late-load capability, enabling Cygnus to fly live mice for the Rodent Research experiment on the space station. (Also check out the eye of the swan in the NASA NG-11 patch.) |
SkyMan1958 | I hadn't noticed the swan's eye. Thank you Robert! |
Kevin T. Randall | Today A-B Emblem released the NASA version of this Cygnus NG-11 patch (top photo). It has SKU patch design number 407368. The date code is 04/19 20 (USA) for the 4" version, now confirmed. A 3" manufacturing error version of the AB Emblem "swan" version has been listed for sale on the AB Emblem "lost in space" page. SKU 407368 (ME) A-B Emblem 4/19 20 (USA) the date code now confirmed. |
Robert Pearlman | Northrop Grumman's NG-11 embroidered patch: |
ddrwilli | NG-11 patch description from the back of the decal - I note that it says nothing about the cheese. NG-11, represented by eleven gold stars emblazoned alongside the patch, is Northrop Grumman’s eleventh Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) mission to deliver critical provisions and science experiments to the astronauts at the International Space Station. The center of the patch prominently displays the name of the program with the Cygnus spacecraft attached to the robotic arm of the International Space Station. The shape of the patch represents the fairing of the Antares rocket, which will launch this mission from the Mid Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) at Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia’s Eastern Shore which is represented in the backdrop of the patch. This patch was designed by Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems employee, Kevin Peak. |
Kevin T. Randall | A second date code has now been reported on the 4" AB Emblem NG-11 patch.- 407368 A-B Emblem 04/19 20 (USA)
- 407368 A-B Emblem 5/19 20 (USA)

BMckay | My NG-11 patches have no AB stickers on it. Still a cool patch. Love the cheese. |
Robert Pearlman | AB Emblem does not make Northrop Grumman's patches. AB only makes the NASA versions of the CRS patches. (The "cheese" patch is the Northrop version.) |
